The Promise Free Benefit Services
The Promise Resource is a collaborative effort powered by United Way and the City of Philadelphia, offering free benefit services and housing & economic empowerment support to families in need.
Through their Housing and Economic Empowerment Department, they strive to help families achieve self-sufficiency through housing stability and financial support from various benefits. Their services include:
Housing Counseling Service
- First-Time Homebuyer Counseling
- Rental Counseling
- Mortgage Default Counseling
- Eviction Avoidance
- Property Tax Delinquency Counseling
Benefit Access Counseling Services
- LIHEAP/UESF (Energy Assistance)
- Medicaid/Medicare
- Property Tax and Rent Rebate
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly (PACE/PACENET)
Additionally, The Promise Resource offers free tax preparation services.
The Promise Collaborative is a partnership between Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance, Community Legal Services Inc., and Beech Community Services, providing these services to the community.
